Tinnitus sufferers: is this the cure?

Tinnitool

As a sufferer of tinnitus for some 15+ years now, it goes without saying that I’ve always longed for some kind of effective treatment or even (though I never thought it possible) a cure.

So, imagine my interest when I saw this device: the tinnitool. Ostensibly it is a soft laser treatment that claims to encourage cell regeneration in the ear, leading to a reduction or possibly even a cure to tinnitus. At £200 its no cheap option, but as anyone afflicted will attest, that might be a small price to pay if it helps with what can only be described as a maddening condition.

Has anyone tried it? If so, post your thoughts as I’d certainly love to hear more about it… Fingers crossed though that finally some kind of relief has come for those of us with tinnitus.

I’ve not used one, but if you research it and make a programme on it, probably they will give you one for free, or at least a test of it. Always worth a try.

A programme on hearing might be done quite well, and certainly wouldn’t have to wait until early months of next year when national tinnitus awareness week comes around again.

Personally I would like to see them on the NHS if they work!

I have to say, much as I really can’t afford one at the mo, I’m still sorely tempted, purely because my tinnitus is so bad these days that I’m finding it harder than ever to cope with. I actually have a referral with the hospital that should come through next month, so I might discuss it with them.

A programme on hearing? Hmmm - sounds good, though I’m not sure what form it could take. It’d need a LOT of research, that’s for sure!

Even with 8000Hz yelling in my ear, I would caution you to wait- see what tests find out, wait for a reliable source.(a good example is to ask a back pain sufferer how much they have spent on bizarre furniture, cushions, pills, and diets over the years). The number of therapeutic devices gathering dust in the back of cupboards rivals the number of kitchen gadgets in the average car boot sale.
